Yamhill County is a growing part of Northwest Oregon.  If offers a unique contrast, with a beautiful bucholic setting, country estates with acreage and more affordable suburban homes, all within a 30 minutes drive into metro Portland or Salem.  It has become the Napa Valley of the Northwest, with no less than 200 wineries, many being small boutique operations, which all offer high quality wines, particularly Oregon's signiture vintage, Pinot Noir and Pinot Greggio.  Having moved to Oregon recently ourselves, my wife and I looked all over the Willamette Valley and chose Yamhill County.

The communities of Yamhill County include McMinnville, the County Seat, Newberg, Dundee, Amity, Dayton, Carlton, Lafayette and Yamhill.  The rolling hills, soil and weather make for ideal grape growing conditions.  The County's, as well as the State's, wine industry has been growing rapidly, with many if the wineries featuring first class tasting rooms that rival the best that Napa has to offer.

What is equally impressive is the ease with which one can get to just about anything they need - commuting to a job, shopping, healthcare facilities, schools, recreation, entertainment and dining out, to name a few.  This is why many believe Yamhill County will continue to grow; a growing number of people will see it as one of the most desirable regions surrounding the Portland metro area.
